Mayor Weeks conspire in job bidding

It may not be more entertaining than the candid thought of picturing the mayor or her consultant on their hands and knees in the dark in the computer conspiracy, but the details of what came out of this questioning is disturbing, far more serious and damaging to the public.

It is not legal to manipulate the public bidding process for employment.   Second, what is the reason in creating a computer consulting position if there already was a capable fully functional IT Dept. at City Hall?

Ask for money, get advice.

Ask for advice get money twice.
Has anyone stopped to ask who they're asking?

Debbie Plunkett is stomping around neighborhoods to deny allegiance with the Boulderwoods developer Solimine after being placed on the spotlight during the Ward 1 Debate in having accepted a large sum of donations from the developer's family and the blasting company.

facebook.com/VoteLozzi
Even the Mayor's election committee has ignored documenting donations received from the developer on their campaign contribution disclosures.

Then there was Debbie's revealing comment during the debate that everyone should know the development received unanimous approval.  Disregard neighborhood opposition for a minute?   Is someone giving Debbie debate advice?    Mistakes can happen to anyone?  I mean, look at State Rep Fennel for a moment who declares he is blameless when denying he understood any impact his letter to the state has made in recommending there not be an Environmental Study of the area concluded.  He was asked to write the letter by guess who.

Why did Debbie decorate the project's approval?  Let us take at look at those approvals.

Registry of Deeds, Plan Book 296, page 80, Date January 1995
Lynn Planning Board Approval for subdivision signed by Stilian, Fennell & Crompton

Here is another tid bit.

State Rep. Robert Fennel was a member of the planning board when he signed off on the subdivision back in 1995.   According to the Mass Conflict of Interest Law, Fennel would be forever banned from appearing as an agent on the project.  Therefore when Fennel wrote a letter to the state in support of the project with the newer title as State Rep this appears to be in conflict with the ethics laws.  Google Fennell + Boulderwoods or Solimine.

So in case you missed it the first time.
Why is Solimine generously supporting Phelan's and Lozzi's opponents in elections?
Read these letters and decide for yourself.

Many thanks to peeps for the information.

Lynn Firefighters praise who and why?

Two dozen Lynn firefighters wore yellow T-shirts proclaiming support for Congressman Tierney reelection, writes the Daily Item.

The Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts President Edward Kelly said Tierney fought to secure federal grants to expand the fire department since 2009.

Why talk about this now from 2012?  Because during a mayoral debate in this year of 2013, Mayor Kennedy credited herself with keeping the fire stations open and hiring more firefighters.

We know who accepted the grant, who fought for the grant, but who requested the grant?

Shared by someone who read this on facebook somewhere.

Circles of acquaintance: Clancy, Solimine, Kennedy & nonprofits

Why do two different corporations have nearly identical names, one being a profit and one a nonprofit?

And why is Edward, Clancy Jr. a Board of Director in both of Solimine's nonprofit corps as Solimine is a keen supporter to Mayor Kennedy?  Is Kennedy aware of the connections or is everyone one big happy family?  Show me your friends?

Land of opportunity for some, retreat for others

Was Phelan misinformed when he announced at the debate the land for development off Rt. 1 is ready for the right developer?  Queuing in Kennedy did not correct Phelan to say the land is part of Lynn Woods Reservation, said she is 'holding out for a better offer, because the real estate value is low'.  Is she kidding us or is really planning to sell out part of Lynn Woods?   Never will this happen.

Many may not remember this, but was is not Councillor Benson, the first woman councillor in Lynn to have prevented Rt. 95 from crossing Lynn Woods?   There is a purpose the land off Rt. 1 in Lynnfield has remained undeveloped in all these years.   This lot seals further acres of land from development around Lynn Woods.

The Jackson-City Duet

It not only happens that Corey Jackson, Director of Arts after Hours in Lynn/  blogger of downtownlynn.blogspot.com/  has made plays in theater, though The City of Lynn is making their very own best performances.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Catherine Latham appointed Sarah Jackson, Corey's wife to a position and the School Committee unanimously approved her appointment to a one-year consulting contact.  Jackson was formally introduced at a School Committee meeting.  School Committee member Charlie Gallo said he proposed the new position.

Fantastic new job creation, but where was the public announcement for the bid?

Corey Jackson in his popular blog was vocal in the past in pushing Judy Kennedy for Mayor.  Water over the dam?

Jackson in 2009 wrote   'Big challenging road ahead, but this mayor is going to take us with her down that road, and that is going to make all the difference.'    Literally?

Kennedy's financials and Solimine?

Mayor Kennedy's financials can be viewed here -
http://www.ci.lynn.ma.us/cityhall_documents/clerk_elections/campagin_finance/2013/Kennedy,%20Judith%20Flanagan%20-%20Mayor%20-%2009-02-2013.pdf

There is no mention of contributions by David Solimine Jr or the Solimine family to Judy's campaign.  No mention of any in-kind contributions.  No mention of the headquarter's lease expense.

In fact,  Judy's headquarter on Chestnut St is in Solimine's building.

In fact, the Solimine family hosted a re-election fundraiser at Lucia Design for the Mayor.

The only facts we might not find are all the contributions listed in the campaign finance report and property record for the campaign headquarter.

Lining up council?

Solimine + candidates
Solimine hosts re-election Fundraiser for Mayor Kennedy + shop.
Solimine supports Candidate for Ward 1 Council Debbie Plunkett.
Both women are Phelan's + Lozzi's challengers.
Solimine's development is held up by Councilman and candidate for Mayor Phelan and Ward 1 Councilor Lozzi.

In the light

Solimine, Chairman of the Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce

Lynn foreclosure mediation plan faces mayoral scrutiny - Itemlive.com

Acres of Solimini's project land came from forelosure acquisitions.

But did you know David Solimine Jr. is also a lender?  Check out the Salem Deeds online.

Mayor Kennedy disproves the Site Plan Review, claiming delay for developers.

In the background, Chamber of Commerce emails several organizations to oppose proposal.

Mayor Kennedy sides with Chamber of Commerce that the zoning laws are too restrictive for developers.

Will the Mayor of Lynn in the next term side with her campaign supporter Solimine, Chairman of the Chamber or represent the whole community?

More on this developing story as we sleep.
